The AHT exisits to conserve evidence of Antarctic's history now and for the future.
The United Kingdom Antarctic Heritage Trust was founded to inform and educate people about Antarctica's unique heritage of exploration, and to protect icons dating from the earliest exploration to Antarctica to the modern day. It exists to conserve evidence of Antarctica’s history now and for the future. Proceeds will be for the internationally famous Royal Research Ship Discovery, built in Dundee for the British National Antarctic Expedition of 1901 under the leadership of Captain Scott. Discovery, looked after by the Dundee Heritage Trust is part of the National Historic Fleet of vessels of pre-eminent national significance in terms of maritime heritage, historical association and innovation of technology.
